Police ID Sunday shooting victims

FORT WAYNE – Five men injured in a shootout at Lafayette Street and East Tillman Road about 4:30 a.m. Sunday were named by the Fort Wayne Police Department on Tuesday.

They are Brandon Marcus Hardy, 31, of New Haven; Dawann Laray Martin Sr., 30, of Fort Wayne; Kavonte Lamar Bingham, 22, of Fort Wayne; Charles Louis Phillips Jr., 19, of Fort Wayne; and Christopher Lynn Ladd, 19, of Fort Wayne.

The fight involved rival gang members who had gotten into an argument at a bar and chased each other in cars to the intersection where the shootings happened, police said for an earlier story.

At least one of the men was in serious condition and one was in critical condition after the shootings. Their current conditions were not provided by police on Tuesday.
