Woman shot multiple times in child-care center lot

INDIANAPOLIS – Police say a woman has been shot outside an Indianapolis child-care center after dropping off her two children, and officers are searching for her ex-husband.

Police Lt. Chris Bailey said the woman was in the parking lot of KinderCare on the city’s northwest side about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when she was shot. The center director found her when she arrived.

Bailey said the woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds

He said officers were searching for the woman’s 33-year-old ex-husband.
