Ohio City plastics assets acquired

Elkhart Plastics Inc. of South Bend has purchased the assets of El Monte Plastics of Ohio, the company announced today.

The price for the Ohio City, Ohio, assets, which include two facilities totaling more than 70,000 square feet and seven rotational molding machines, was not disclosed in a statement.

The Ohio City facilities will continue to operate under the Elkhart Plastics name, and 30 former El Monte employees will be offered jobs, the statement said.

"El Monte has been a strong supplier to the RV industry since thei were founded and will complement our overall business mix," said Jack Welter, CEO of Elkhart Plastics, in the statement. "We will work diligently with former El Monte personnel to fill all current and future orders."
