Gunshot victims riding in car ID'd

DeAndrew Moore
Devonte Jones

Fort Wayne police have identified two men who were shot while inside a car Tuesday on Decatur Road.

DeAndrew Moore and Devonte Jones were identified as the two men who were found suffering from gunshot wounds outside their vehicle near Decatur Road and Dawnan Drive shortly after 1:30 p.m., police said.

The men were taken to a hospital in fair condition.

No updates on their conditions were available Wednesday.

Moore and Jones were alert and conscious when police arrived and said they had been driving south on Decatur Road when someone began shooting at their red Chevrolet Impala, according to police reports.

The men told police the shooter might have been firing at them from a nearby residence but said they did not know who would shoot at them.

Officers found multiple .223-caliber shell casings, and the vehicle had a broken rear window that appeared to have been shot out, the reports said.

The shooting remains under investigation, and no suspect information was available, police said.
