Fox Island bird count is Monday

Statement as issued Wednesday by Allen County Parks:

The public is invited to Fox Island County Park's Bird Observatory next Monday afternoon, February 17th, from 1:00-3:00 for the Great Backyard Bird Count!

Visit within the warmth of our bird observatory with park naturalist, Natalie Haley, and local Stockbridge Audubon birding experts while the sounds of nature's chorus - bird song, reverberate through the forests of Fox Island. Learn about bird identification, binocular use and cleaning, bird feeding, and more. Cost is $2.00 park entry fee payable with exact change directly to the park naturalist, or if you need change, visit our nature center and drop off the $2.00 as a park entry fee with our receptionist.

Fox Island County Park is located at 7324 Yohne Rd., Fort Wayne, IN. 46809. Once you enter the main gate, the bird observatory is straight ahead past the four-way stop at the end of the center road parking lot. The nature center can be found if you take a right at the four-way stop within the park.

For more information, contact Natalie Haley, Naturalist at 449-3246, 449-3778 or
