3 jailed in dealing meth

Three people arrested earlier this month for allegedly making methamphetamine in a local motel were charged Monday.

On Feb. 4, police were called to the Travel Inn, 2712 Coliseum Blvd. W., where they found Stephen R. Knott, Samantha J. Cole, Brandon A. Gammons and an active one-pot meth lab that had been stashed under the bed, according to court documents.

Officers also found lye-based drain cleaner, camping fuel, table salt, lithium batteries and other items used in the production of meth, the documents said.

Cole, Knott and Gammons were arrested and each charged with felony dealing meth, possession of meth and possession of chemical reagents or precursors with intent to manufacture. They were each being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to court documents.

Cole, 23, of the 5100 block of East Derome Drive, also faces a felony charge of maintaining a common nuisance. Cole told police she needed money and Knott had offered to pay her for purchasing boxes of pseudoephedrine.

Knott, 28, with an address listed at the Relax Inn and Suites, 3527 Coliseum Blvd. W., was involved in a 2012 meth manufacturing case when a “one-pot” lab failed and ignited a detached garage, according to court files.

Knott had purchased pseudoephedrine medication six times since October 2013, court documents said.

Gammons, 26, of the 1700 block of Pacific Drive, had also purchased pseudoephedrine medication six times since October 2013, the documents said.
