2 passersby rescue Indianapolis house fire victim

INDIANAPOLIS – Authorities are crediting two Indianapolis men with pulling a man from a fire in his home before he was more seriously injured.

Capt. Michael Pruitt of the Wayne Township Fire Department says Michael Wilson and Nathan Burch were driving by the west side home Saturday evening when they saw the fire, called 911 and forced their way into the home. Pruitt says they found a man on the floor and were able to drag him outside before firefighters arrived.

The man is in serious condition at an Indianapolis hospital. His name has not been released.

Pruitt says no one else was home at the time of the fire.

It took firefighters about 10 minutes to control the blaze.
