'Captain Phillips,' 'American Hustle' take top awards from American Cinema Editors

"Captain Phillips" and "American Hustle" took top awards Friday from the American Cinema Editors.

Christopher Rouse won the dramatic feature Eddie Award for "Captain Phillips." The award for comedy or musical feature went to Jay Cassidy, Crispin Struthers and Alan Baumgarten for "Hustle."

Both films and their editors are among nominees in the best film editing category at the Academy Awards. In nine of the past 10 years, the ACE winner for dramatic feature has gone on to win the editing Oscar, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Jeff Draheim won the edited animated feature Eddie for "Frozen." Eddies were also awarded in several television categories.

The Academy Awards take place March 2.
