3 arrested during drug raid

Three people were arrested on drug charges Friday during a raid on Fort Wayne's south side.

Officers searched a home in the 4700 block of Lafayette Street at 10:53 a.m.

Andrea L. Barnett, 49, Michael Thomas, 49, and Ronald E. Sanders, 44, were all arrested during the raid.

Barnett was found with a 5-year-old child who was released to her mother when she arrived at the scene, police said.

Several dogs that had been locked in a garage without heat or food were given to Animal Care & Control.

Police also found cocaine, drug paraphernalia and scales to weigh cocaine, police said.

Barnett was charged with maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia and three counts of dealing cocaine.

Police detained a vehicle that pulled up during the raid. Inside the vehicle was Thomas, who lives at the home that was raided. He was charged with maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.

Sanders, the driver, was charged with cocaine possession, marijuana possession and possession of paraphernalia.
