FORT WAYNE – A 16-year-old Fort Wayne boy is charged as an adult with robbery after police said he and three others pointed a gun at a man who was getting items out of his car.
Court documents filed Friday said Stephon Holland, of the 4100 block of Hessen Cassel Road, was caught after police followed footprints through the snow from the scene of the robbery on Jan. 18 in the 3300 block of Bowser Avenue.
According to court documents, Holland pointed a gun at a man who was getting items from the back seat of the car. When the man said he didn’t have anything, Holland pulled the slide back on the handgun, as if he were chambering a round, and demanded the man’s cellphone, court records said.
The man gave Holland his cellphone and a wallet containing $60. Holland and the three other males, who did not appear to have been formally charged as of Friday evening, fled the area. Officers followed their tracks to a home.
After obtaining a search warrant, police searched the home and found a handgun inside a gym shoe, the man’s wallet and identification inside the water tank of a toilet. The four, including Holland, were arrested inside the house, according to documents.
