4 found dead in Defiance County

A person checking on the welfare of family members discovered what might be a triple homicide-suicide in Defiance County, officials said Thursday.

According to a statement from the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, the dead include Robert Garza, Sr., his wife Christine Garza, daughter Zoila Garza and granddaughter Rebecca Garza.

While the deaths are still under investigation, police believe Robert Garza Sr. to be the person responsible for the deaths, police said.

The four were last seen at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies will continue to interview neighbors, family and friends, according to the statement issued Thursday night.
