1-2 inches of snow by dawn; sleet, rain forecast

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana says northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio can expect to have accumulations of 1 to 2 inches of snow by dawn Saturday, followed by a slippery mix of precipitation.

The mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected to greet the region, with some areas warming up and getting all rain by Saturday afternoon. The thaw is expected along and southeast of U.S. 24.

The weather service said another winter storm is forming that could hit the area on Tuesday.
