Fire crews put out Bluffton Road blaze

It took Fort Wayne firefighters an hour to bring an industrial building fire under control early Thursday.

At 12:51 a.m., crews were called to a building in the 8200 block of Bluffton Road about a water pipe. When they arrived, they found smoke coming from the 80,000-square-foot tractor-trailer repair building that contained multiple car-hauling semis.

The building was filled with smoke, and firefighters found a semi on fire inside. Crews were able to extinguish the fire and spent a considerable amount of time clearing smoke from the building, the Fort Wayne Fire Department said.

The building sustained minor fire and water damage and moderate smoke damage.

No one was inside the building at the time.
