Phones taken during burglary

Fort Wayne police were investigating a burglary at the AT&T Mobile store at 5409 Meijer Drive on the city’s northeast side early Thursday.

Officers were called to the store near Maysville Road and Interstate 469 just after 12:30 a.m. because of an alarm going off.

They found no one inside but saw that some of the phones used in displays had been swiped, the security cords attaching them having been cut.

Surveillance video showed that a masked person threw a rock through the front door, then entered the store. Phones worth a total of roughly $7,900 were stolen, according to police.
