  • Priming Game 3
The Reading Royals are the defending champions of the ECHL, and it would be naïve of the Komets to think it would be easy to unseat them.
  • Clarke is K's Mr. Steady
The Komets rely on their veterans to temper the enthusiasm of the highs and get through the frustration of the lows. And no one in the locker room is more even keel than Aaron Clarke, a 31-year-old forward.
  • Royals bolstered
The Reading Royals' lineup was bolstered today, as Dustin Gazley was sent down by Hershey of the American Hockey League. He had eight goals and 15 points in 42 games with Hershey.

K's sign another Ouellet

They get San Francisco's leading scorer

The Komets have signed Dean Ouellet, who led the San Francisco Bulls in scoring before that team folded Monday because of financial problems.

The 26-year-old forward had 10 goals and 30 points in 38 games this season.

He is not related to the Komets' Christian Ouellet.

"Dean Ouellet is a player who can definitely help the team offensively," general manager David Franke said. "Coach Gary Graham deserves all the credit for getting Ouellet into Fort Wayne.

He was an all-star as a rookie last season with 24 goals and 52 points in 66 games.
