Jason Dale was a familiar foe of the Komets, who faced him in each of the last four seasons.
Now, he'll be donning the fireball logo.
Prior to today's game at Wheeling, W.Va., the Komets acquired the 25-year-old forward from the Ontario Reign for cash.
Dale had one goal and three points in nine games this season with Ontario. Prior to that, he had three assists in nine games with Evansville, which waived him.
The Komets played against Dale from 2010 to 2012, when he was with Bloomington of the CHL. He had 17 goals both seasons with Bloomington.
Last season with Evansville, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound Dale had 16 goals and 39 points in 70 games with Evansville.
He has had two stints in the higher-level American Hockey League, going scoreless in five games with Bridgeport and Abbotsford.
The Komets have now made 10 trades since Nov. 11.
