A free tax preparation program for residents in Allen, DeKalb and Noble counties will begin Saturday. The program is sponsored by United Way of Allen County and Volunteer Center RSVP and organized by members of the Financial Stability Partnership.
IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers will help residents file taxes and claim available credits, including the earned income tax credit, which might help families get as much as a $5,000 refund.
Any family or individual earning less than $52,000 annually qualifies for the free program which will continue through April 12.
