CANI takes applications for heating bill assistance

Community Action of Northeast Indiana is continuing to take appointments for energy assistance for all of its offices in Allen, DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben and Whitley Counties.

Applicants can receive CANI’s energy assistance only once per heating period. Those who’ve already received assistance should not apply again, but might be eligible in future seasons, officials said.

The current period ends May 15. Any eligible individuals or families who have not yet received Energy Assistance this season are encouraged to apply.

To make an appointment, call CANI at 1-800-589-2264 and press 1 for family support.
