Indiana Michigan Power issued the following statement:
Indiana Michigan Power crews will work through the night to re-establish service to about 360 Woodburn area residents who are without power.
The harsh winter weather may have contributed to equipment issues at a substation early Saturday that resulted in a loss of service to about 1,600 customers. I&M was able to restore power to more than 1,200 customers by redirecting the flow of power from different circuits. Restoring service to the remaining customers requires temporarily replacing substation equipment with mobile devices, which is a complex task.
The affected customers are along Woodburn Road between U.S. 24 and the Ohio state line.
I&M cares about the customers who remain without power, and we are working to restore service as soon as possible. We expect service to all customers to be restored by 3 p.m. Sunday.
