Verbatim: Police vehicle flips, officer injured

A report received Friday morning from the Noble County Sheriff’s Department:

At around 12:05 a.m. Kylen Branham, an on duty officer for the Albion Police Department, was responding with lights and sirens to an emergency call at the Noble County Jail.

While traveling westbound on State Road 8, Branham lost control of his vehicle when he encountered a section of ice on the roadway. The vehicle went off the south side of the roadway and flipped two and a half times. It landed on its roof and slid in the snow before coming to rest. The roof of the vehicle collapsed resulting in the officer becoming entrapped inside.

Rescue crews were able to free Branham who was taken to Parkview Noble Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
