Battling the cold at house fire

Samuel Hoffman | The Journal Gazette
City firefighters Matt Klopsch, left, and John Evans replace their air canisters Wednesday at a fire at 4309 S.W. Anthony Wayne Drive. Firefighters arrived at the two-story home at 4:15 p.m. and had the blaze under control in 34 minutes. An adult and a child escaped, but a dog died. Investigators believe a pan of grease left on the stove caused the fire.
