Winter weather advisory issued

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow and blowing snow until 10 a.m. Thursday for northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

A burst of moderate snow is expected this evening, with 1 to 2 inches possible, the weather service said in its advisory.

Strong northwest winds will cause blowing and drifting snow, as well as wind chills around 15 to 20 degrees below zero, the advisory said.

Roads will become snow-covered and hazardous, and visibilities may be limited in some areas because of snow and blowing snow, it said.

The weather service urged caution while traveling.
