One person stands accused of robbing a woman in the Glenbrook Square parking lot, holding a weapon on her and a friend.
The woman told police that they were robbed by occupants of a burgundy SUV about 6:45 p.m. Monday.
An officer reported seeing a Chevy Equinox of that color leaving the lot. When it was stopped on State Boulevard near Parnell Avenue, the officer wrote in his report, he noticed that one of the people inside was wearing a navy jacket with yellow going down the arms, as described by the woman.
The Equinox was registered to the mother of one of the occupants, and she gave police permission to search it. The police reported finding what looked like a handgun.
Checking it out, police found that it was a Daisy model 5501, a CO2 pistol that shoots .177-calibre BBs. The Daisy company describes it as a "semi-auto" with blow-back action. It is used with a 15-shot clip.
One male was charged with armed robbery. The age of the suspect was not released.
