CHESTER, Pa. — Authorities say a student at Widener University in suburban Philadelphia is being treated at a local hospital after he was shot on campus and the university warned students to remain indoors while police search for the suspected shooter.

The school said on its website that the student was shot near the Schwartz Athletic Center on the school's campus around 8:45 p.m. Monday. The victim was being treated at Crozer Chester Medical Center but his condition wasn't known. The university said the student's family was with him.
