Snow showers moving over area

Bands of snow showers are moving over parts of northeast Indiana, the National Weather Service said tonight.

At 4:55 p.m., weather-service radar showed bands of snow showers along a line from near Dowagiac, Mich., to Grissom Air Force Base, moving east at 35 mph, the weather service said in a special weather statement.

Visibilities in the area of snow will fall below a half-mile at times, with accumulation of up to a half-inch in an hour, the statement said.

Locations in the path of the snow bands include Nappanee, Wabash, Winona Lake, Warsaw and North Manchester, the weather service said.
