Coroner confirms drowning death

The Allen County Coroner’s Office ruled Mark W. Pusey, 50, died Tuesday night from drowning.

About an hour after he was reported missing, Pusey was pulled from a small private pond about 10 p.m. in the 11600 block of Stellhorn Road by rescue crews from the New Haven-Adams Township and Fort Wayne fire departments after he fell through the ice while ice fishing.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The death was ruled accidental because of asphyxia from drowning, according to the coroner’s report.
