CHICAGO – John Wall and Nene had 19 points apiece, Trevor Ariza scored 16 and the Washington Wizards beat the Chicago Bulls 102-88 on Monday night.
The Wizards led by 13 early in the fourth quarter and hung on after Chicago made one final push, snapping the Bulls’ five-game win streak.
Nene scored eight points in the final period and Bradley Beal came on strong to finish with 13.
Carlos Boozer scored 19 for Chicago and Joakim Noah grabbed 16 rebounds, but with a chance to reach .500 for the first time since November, the Bulls came up short. They also lost for the first time since trading Luol Deng to Cleveland last week.
ROCKETS 104, CELTICS 92: In Boston, Dwight Howard had 32 points and 10 rebounds as Houston sent the Celtics to their ninth consecutive defeat. Jeremy Lin added 16 points and nine assists for Houston. Avery Bradley had 24 points for the Celtics, on their longest losing streak since dropping a franchise-record 18 straight games in 2007.
KNICKS 98, SUNS 96, OT: In New York, Carmelo Anthony had 29 points and 16 rebounds as the Knicks held Phoenix without a field goal in overtime to win their fifth straight. Goran Dragic had 28 points and eight rebounds for the Suns, who dropped their third straight.
RAPTORS 116, BUCKS 94: In Toronto, Kyle Lowry scored 23 points and Jonas Valanciunas had 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Raptors handed Milwaukee its sixth straight loss.
SPURS 101, PELICANS 95: In New Orleans, Tony Parker capped a 27-point outing with several clutch layups in the final minutes as San Antonio won its fifth straight. Anthony Davis had 22 points and 11 rebounds for New Orleans.
MAVERICKS 107, MAGIC 88: In Dallas, Monta Ellis scored 21 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 15 as the Mavs extended Orlando’s losing streak to eight games.
JAZZ 118, NUGGETS 103: In Salt Lake City, Alec Burks scored a career-high 34 points to spark Utah.
