Drug suspect captured after foot pursuit, police say

Collier

An Elkhart man wanted on a drug charge was arrested Monday afternoon following a short foot pursuit, the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department said today.

Emmanuel Ryan Kwabena Collier, 30, was charged with dealing marijuana within 1,000 feet of school property and with resisting/fleeing law enforcement, the sheriff's department said in a statement. He was being held at the Kosciusko County Jail.

Police said county Drug Task Force officers, with the assistance of Milford police, were conducting an undercover purchase of marijuana with Collier in Milford, following a monthlong investigation, when Collier suddenly fled on foot.

He was tackled by sheriff's deputies, police said, and taken into custody.

The task force was assisted by Milford police, the county sheriff's department and the county prosecutor's office.
