2 held on meth-related charges

Warsaw police on Friday arrested a man wanted in Whitley County, which led them to a meth bust, according to a statement from the Warsaw Police Department.

Police said Jack Daniels, 31, of Warsaw was attempting to purchase Sudafed at the pharmacy at Owen’s Supermarket on East Center Street about 9 a.m. when his purchase was denied, and the pharmacist called police.

Police identified Daniels as wanted on a warrant out of Whitley County alleging he failed to show up for a court-ordered sentence in September, according to the statement.

Daniels acknowledged he was trying to purchase the Sudafed to make methamphetamine, the statement said, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Kristi Cain, 29, of Warsaw was with Daniels at the store and was also taken into custody, police said. They said she was found to have meth chemicals and drug paraphernalia on her and in a vehicle.

When officers went to Daniels' residence at Green Acres Mobile Home Park, they said they located multiple one-pot meth labs, meth chemicals and paraphernalia related to the manufacture of methamphetamine.

A woman at the mobile home was detained and released, and the Indiana Department of Child Services removed two children from the home, police said.

The Indiana State Police meth team cleaned up the scene, the statement said.

Daniels and Cain were taken to the Kosciusko County Jail. Daniels was held without bond for Whitley County. He was also charged with attempted purchase of meth manufacturing precursors.

Cain was held on possession of chemical reagents/precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of meth paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $2,000.
