Indiana confirms weather-related deaths

At least three deaths related to snow or cold weather have been confirmed by Indiana Homeland Security.

They are:

  • A 41-year-old man was killed in an automobile crash in Henry County on Sunday.
  • A 66-year-old Anderson man was found outside on Sunday, after not returning from shoveling snow. He died of a heart-related issue.
  • A 90-year-old Marion County woman was found dead on her Wayne Township back porch Monday. The woman, believed to have been shoveling a path for her dogs, died of cardiac arrest.
A fourth death, has not yet been determined to be weather-related. On Tuesday morning, Wayne Township crews in Marion County responded to a garage fire, in which they found a man deceased inside a car.

The fire remains under investigation, but may be related to the cold temperatures, officials said.
