Old National Bank names Fort Wayne region president


Statement as issued by the bank on Tuesday:

Fort Wayne, Ind. (January 7, 2014) – Old National Bank (NASDAQ: ONB) has named Wendell L. Bontrager as its Fort Wayne Region President. His new role will be effective upon the completion of the partnership transaction of Tower Bank scheduled for Feb. 14, 2014. Old National announced its partnership agreement to acquire Town Financial Corporation on Sept. 10, 2013.

Wendell Bontrager has over 20 years of experience in the commercial banking industry. He currently serves as Tower’s Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer. He joined Tower Bank in 1999 as Vice President, Corporate Services and has served in several positions within the bank including retail, HSA and mortgage.

“Old National is pleased to have Wendell as part of our management team,” said Mark Bradford, Old National North Central Region CEO. “His leadership skills coupled with his strong client and community relationships make him a valuable asset to Old National Bank and our expansion into Fort Wayne.”

Bontrager earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Goshen College and was a graduate of the Leadership Fort Wayne class of 2001. He is currently the Board Chair of the Fort Wayne Area Youth for Christ and a Board Member of the Christian Services Foundation. Bontrager has also served on numerous civic boards including Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Allen County, Mad Anthony’s and the Civic Theatre.
