Huntington County stops plowing

Huntington County has ceased plowing all roads due to the wind, which is blowing shut several roads and making it impossible for plows to keep up.

The announcement comes via the county sheriff’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/TheHuntingtonCountySheriffsDepartmentCountyJail.

Plows are parked for the time being at area fire stations and will be in standby mode for medical and fire department emergencies.

Plows will resume work when wind dies down, according to the Facebook page.

There is currently a Level 1 travel warning in Huntington County through 3 p.m. on Tuesday, which means travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only.
