Indiana Department of Transportation declares emergency road closures

The Indiana Department of Transportation has declared an emergency closure of I-94, both eastbound and westbound, between the Illinois state line and the Michigan City exit U.S. 421.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of I-65 are also closed, between U.S. 12/20 and mile marker 172, from Gary to Lafayette, Indiana.

The roadways are closed to all traffic due to some areas and ramps are impassable.

There is no timeframe for when the roadways will reopen.
