Woman found dead outside Indianapolis home

INDIANAPOLIS — Authorities say a woman has been found dead outside her home on the west side of Indianapolis.

Michael Pruitt of the Wayne Township Fire Department said that crews were called Monday morning about an unresponsive elderly woman in her backyard. Pruitt said the woman was dead when crews arrived.

He said Indianapolis police are investigating whether her death was weather related. Temperatures fell to more than 10 below zero in Indianapolis on Monday.

The woman's identity wasn't immediately released.
