Peyton Siva's free throws with 3.9 seconds remaining gave the Mad Ants the lead for good in front of a bevy of NBA scouts. And Ron Howard, leaping at half court, stole an in-bounds pass from the baseline to seal the victory.

Howard scored 28 points – he made 16 of 19 free throws – and Trey McKinney-Jones added 25 points. McKinney-Jones was 10 of 19 from the field.

Jamaal Franklin, playing his first game for Fort Wayne after being sent down by the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, had 15 points. Siva had five points and seven assists.

Santa Cruz (10-8) was paced by Cameron Jones' 23 points.
