Verbatim: Bluffton snow, weather emergency

Bluffton Mayor Ted Ellis issued this news release tonight:

Bluffton, Indiana Mayor Ted Ellis has declared a snow and weather emergency for the City of Bluffton, Indiana, effective at 8:00pm today and continuing until 5:00pm on Monday.

Bluffton¹s Snow Emergency Ordinance prohibits driving, parking or stopping of vehicles along city streets during the emergency except as may be necessary to protect property or human life.

The emergency declaration further prohibits discharging snow onto any street, bridge or culvert within the city while crews are attempting to clear those areas.

This declaration affects only the City of Bluffton. The Wells County Commissioners may make emergency declarations for areas outside the city.

Bluffton City Hall will be closed Monday. Trash and recycling pickup will be a day late all week.
