Pizza delivery marred by heist

A pizza deliveryman told police he was robbed and his car was stolen while dropping off a pie on the city’s south side early Thursday.

The deliveryman from Vito’s Pizza brought a pizza to a home in the 5100 block of Winter Street at 4:20 a.m.

As he went up to the house, three men came from behind the home, according to a police report. All were dressed in dark clothes. One man wore sunglasses while another wore a mask.

One of the three brandished a handgun, the deliveryman said.

They pushed the deliveryman up against the house, items from his pocket – including his wallet – and then took off in his car.

The deliveryman last saw them in his 1994 red Dodge Intrepid going north on Winter Street.
