Guardrail wreck kills woman, 63

A Michigan woman died late Monday after a crash on Interstate 69 in Steuben County earlier in the day, police said.

Jane C. Legaj, 63, was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center after she crashed near the northbound 354.7 mile marker on I-69 at 1:47 p.m., the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department said.

According to police, she was trapped in her minivan for more than an hour after striking a guardrail.

Legaj, of Marysville, Mich., suffered internal injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. Monday.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
