Teen arrested after chase in stolen car

A 16-year-old boy was arrested Monday after he tripped an alarm while he allegedly was stealing a car from a garage, police said.

Just before midnight, police were called to George’s Auto Repair, 1624 Spy Run Ave., on a call about a burglary in progress.

An alarm was triggered, and a vehicle was seen backing out of a garage, according to Fort Wayne Police Department spokesman Michael Joyner.

Joyner said a short pursuit followed, and the vehicle struck at least two parked cars and a pole before it came to a stop.

No one was injured, and the teen was arrested, Joyner said. His name was not released because of his age.
