Winter weather advisory issued

FORT WAYNE -- If you're going to be out and about tonight for New Year's Eve, be careful. There's likely to be some snow.

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a winter weather advisory for the following counties in the region:

  • Indiana – Allen, DeKalb, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben and Whitley.
  • Ohio – Defiance, Paulding and Williams.
The advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. today to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

The weather service said snow accumulations are expected to range from 2 to 5 inches, and that more snow is possible Wednesday night.

Roads tonight are likely to be slick and covered with snow, the weather service said.

Little or no snow is expected south of U.S. 30, according to an update from the weather service.
