    North Side beat Carroll 4-2 on the road in baseball Friday.The Redskins scored two runs in the first inning, one in the fifth and one in the seventh. Keegan Carroll picked up the win, despite allowing 10 hits.

Snider girls beat Northrop in OT

Deja Wimby was the answer for the Snider girls basketball team Thursday, mainly because the Northrop Bruins had no answer for her.

In a first-round SAC holiday tournament thriller, Wimby scored 26 of her team’s 42 points to lift the Panthers past the Bruins 42-40 in overtime.

Aleah Swary had 15 points and Nevada Jones 14 for Northrop.

The Panthers led 23-16 at halftime and 29-24 after three quarters, but Northrop forced overtime with an 11-6 fourth quarter.

Boys basketball

NORTH SIDE 85, BISHOP LUERS 44: Oosha Mitchell scored 24 points and Tre’Vion Crews 20 to lead the Redskins past the Knights in a first-round SAC holiday tournament game. North Side led 20-5 and never looked back. J.J. Foster led Luers with 12 points.

BISHOP DWENGER 55, CONCORDIA 53: The Saints held off a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Cadets in a first-round SAC holiday tournament game. Dwenger, which led 41-28 at the end of three quarters, was led by Grady Eifert with 15 points and Mike Fiacable with 13. D.J. McCall and Reggie Tharp led Concordia with 17 and 16, respectively.

SNIDER 88, SOUTH SIDE 50: In a first-round SAC holiday tournament game, a 23-9 second quarter cracked it open for the Panthers, who led 46-27 at halftime. Trey’von Covington led the Panthers with 22 points. Donovan Clark had 11 for the Archers.

Girls basketball

BISHOP LUERS 68, BISHOP DWENGER 37: Allison Butler and Taya Andrews each scored 12 points as the Knights rolled in a first-round SAC holiday tournament game. Greta Winklejohn led all scorers with 16 for Dwenger.

SOUTH SIDE 57, NORTH SIDE 37: Darshana Nathan led the Archers with 16 points in a first-round SAC holiday tournament game.

CONCORDIA 64, WAYNE 48: Courtney Smith scored 16 points to lead the Cadets in a first-round SAC holiday tournament game. Tiara Poindexter scored 11 for Wayne.
