2 attempt robbery in New Haven

Two men, one wearing a “Frankenstein” mask up to his chin, allegedly tried to rob two men who met with them to buy a 1982 Oldsmobile.

According to the New Haven Police Department, the victims told police they had met with two men on the lot of 2525 Meyer Road on Thursday. They had gone there to buy a maroon two-door 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass, police said.

When the men arrived at the lot to buy the car, they were confronted by the robbers, who sprayed them with pepper spray and fired two shots. No injuries were reported, according to police, and no money exchanged hands.

One of the robbers was described as about 6-foot and black, with a medium build and wearing black jeans, a black jacket and black stocking cap, as well as the small “Frankenstein” mask that went up only to his chin.

The other man was described as being shorter, about 5-foot 9, with a medium build, black with lighter skin and also wearing a black stocking cap. He had a goatee and mustache, police said.

The two robbers left in a black GMC Yukon with tinted windows and no license plate, police said.
