The inmate accused of assaulting Greer is Deadrian Boykins, 18, who was sentenced to the maximum of 65 years in prison Friday on a murder charge for gunning down 17-year-old Elijah Freeman earlier this year.

Boykins is being charged with battery to a law enforcement officer, a class C felony, the sheriff's department said.
