Baby’s death being probed

Little is known about the death of a 1-year-old baby Sunday in the 1000 block of West Creighton Avenue.

According to a report the Allen County Coroner’s Office issued Monday, the cause and manner of Carson Walda’s death remain under investigation pending further testing.

According to a police report, the call came to Fort Wayne police at 10:24 a.m. Sunday as an assist to emergency medical personnel, who were responding to a baby possibly choking and turning blue.

When paramedics took the baby to the hospital, he was in full cardiac arrest, according to a police report.

The baby is the son of Megan Donnelly and Collin Walda, both of Fort Wayne.

According to an obituary, the funeral will be Friday morning at Catholic Cemetery with memorials to the family.

His death remains under investigation by the coroner’s office, the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
