Man killed in Williams County crash

An Edon, Ohio, man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Williams County early Tuesday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Timothy D. Hartsock, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene after a car ran a stop sign and hit the car in which Hartsock was a passenger, according to a news release.

Hartsock was in the front seat of a vehicle driven by Douglas C. Michael, 61. The car was heading north on County Road 4 when a car driven by Casey Kline, 33, heading west on County Road F 50, failed to stop at the intersection, police said.

The crash sent Kline’s vehicle into a field on the northwest side of the intersection. Michael’s vehicle came to rest on the northwest side of the intersection after striking a utility pole.

Michael was transported to Parkview Hospital. His condition was not reported in the release. Neither he nor Hartsock wore a seat belt, according to the statement. Kline, who was not injured, was wearing a seat belt.

The traffic crash remains under investigation.
