Pound of pot found in search, police say

FORT WAYNE – A pound of pot was found in a search of a Packard Park-area house Monday, police said.

Police searched the house in the 300 block of West Packard Avenue shortly before 9 a.m. and arrested Travon D. Russell, 22, on charges of dealing marijuana over 30 grams, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia, according to a statement issued by the Fort Wayne Police Department Vice & Narcotics Division. He was being held on $7,500 bond.

During the search, two other adults and a 17-year-old girl were found. A 23-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were charged with visiting a common nuisance. The police identified them by name, but The Journal Gazette does not routinely name those charged only with misdemeanors.

The police said the 17-year-odl was taken to the Allen County Juvenile Center.

Narcotics detectives reported finding the pot, three handguns, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of money.
