Police investigate infant death

Fort Wayne police officers and emergency crews responded to a call around 10:25 a.m. Sunday morning about an unresponsive infant who later died at a local hospital, according to a statement from the Fort Wayne Police Department.

A preliminary investigation indicates the infant was sleeping with a parent at a house in the 1000 block of W. Creighton Ave. when it became unresponsive, the statement said.

The incident remains under investigation, and the cause and manner of death will be determined by the coroner after an autopsy, the statement said.
