A woman died Friday when her car crossed the center line on U.S. 127 in Van Wert County, Ohio, and collided with another vehicle, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said tonight.

Shannon L. Sholler, 41, died at the scene, the patrol's Van Wert post said in a statement.

Police said Sholler was driving south on U.S. 127, north of U.S. 224, about 2 p.m. when she crossed the center line and struck a northbound car driven by Chelsi J. Siefker, 18.

The drivers' hometowns were not disclosed.

Siefker was flown to a Fort Wayne-area hospital by helicopter, the statement said.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

The Van Wert County sheriff's office, Scott Volunteer Fire & EMS and the Van Wert Fire Department and Medic Squad assisted at the scene.
