The 2014 goal is 1,000 volunteers.

IPFW's BIG Event looks for community agencies in need

Statement as issued Friday by Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne:

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Last year The BIG Event and over 800 volunteers from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) took part in a national day of caring for 52 local agencies in the northeast Indiana community. The BIG Event is looking for community agencies interested in receiving volunteer help on March 29, 2014.

"We are ecstatic that 2014 brings the goal of 1,000 volunteers sending out more love into the Summit City," said Krissy Creager, director of student life at IPFW. "We are looking for community partners who once again want to be a part of The BIG Event. What could many hands, many hours of work, and many caring hearts do to benefit your agency?"

Community agencies interested in taking part should fill out the registration form at ipfw.edu/thebigevent and return the form by February 1, 2014, to be given priority assignments.

For more information contact Krissy Creager, director of student life, at 260-481-6883 or creagerk@ipfw.edu.
