Van Wert woman dies after truck hits her in parking lot

A woman is dead after a pickup truck struck her Wednesday in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart store in Van Wert, Ohio.

Janice J. Johnson of Van Wert was pronounced dead at a hospital from injuries she suffered in the accident.

Van Wert firefighters and police officers arrived at the store at 301 Towne Center Blvd. shortly before noon and found Johnson injured.

According to police, Johnson was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Marcelene Price, also of Van Wert.

Price was not injured.

The ages of the women were not released.

Police are investigating the accident.
